My teenage daughter reminded me that I had said we were moving and I was in a crunch as my lease was up and I had about two weeks to either move or sign the lease for another year. My friend introduced me to Bryan Portalatin from Bohemia and immediately I was impressed with his knowledge of the neighborhood and how interested he was in understanding my needs. At first, he showed me a few places that I didn’t like. I knew I didn’t want a kitchen in the living room and I also knew what I wanted in terms of layout and area. At one point I told him that I was not that serious about moving because maybe it wasn’t a good idea at this time. She listened to our wishlist and matched it to the best of her ability while keeping us in check with what we could realistically get on our budget. She was very upfront at all turns about costs, legal questions, management companies, etc. She also made herself available via text (my preferred method of communication) at all times possible. And she did so all while keeping a smile on her face and ours. I loved the feeling that she actually cared about us as people and not just as a paycheck.The only drawback I experienced was the 15% of the annual rent to be paid as the realtor fee. Comment: Don Burroughs is not only a fantastic agent, but an INCREDIBLE human being. If there were more people like him, renting in New York City would be a breeze. I feel like he lifted the world off my shoulders, seriously. We have only spoken over the phone twice, and he was HIGHLY informative and truly cared about helping me find the right place. I called him hoping to view apartments with Bohemia, but I was approved for something else with another agent from another company. I was very nervous and having doubts, so I called him hoping he would give me some advice. Don straight up told me, I would not be a good agent if I didnt tell you to sign this lease, even if it means I dont get the chance to find an apartment for you. He listened to every concern, answered every question, and repeated himself if I needed clarity. Theres so much to learn when its your first time renting, and having someone who is looking out for your best interest is invaluable. I am beyond grateful. Comment: Truly I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ben and Sheffield! After meeting with Ben in August back when we werent quite ready to move yet, we contacted him desperately after a horrible experience with a broker from another agency. Ben responded immediately and met with my boyfriend and I separately the very next day to look at apartments at different times. He never once made either of us feel rushed or like an inconvenience. We found our dream apartment through him, and he even negotiated on our behalf to make the process more affordable. Time and time again he and Sheffield were accommodating as could be while we applied, and made sure that we had everything we needed and that we looked our best on paper. It was all swift and as pain-free as applying for an apartment can be. They have been ceaselessly amazing and accommodating, and I know that we truly will NEVER work with another agent again until we move out of the city. Comment: Garrett Hendricks is an outstanding real estate professional. I was sure where I wanted to live in Northern Manhattan, but was unsure of the apartments on the market. Garrett showed me many apartments, as nothing was grabbing me right away.Once I saw the one I really wanted to move into, Garrett submitted my paperwork. At the same time, another applicant submitted an application, as well. To ensure I got the apartment, Garrett asked if I could move in sooner. I was ready to take possession immediately. Garrett was courteous from the moment I reached out until even after the apartment lease was signed. He takes a personal investment in each of his clients and the dedication he shows is second to none. His patience and knowledge make him an excellent resource to ask questions (as a first time renter in New York City this was extremely comforting, and a testament to Garrett’s patience). Comment: On a whim, I came to an open house in Sunnyside. Had already seen tons of mediocre apartments, worked with some mediocre realtors (a few who ended up really screwing us over), and this Open House popped up in my email notification from Naked Apts.I texted the Realtor (Chad Ackerman) to confirm, he IMMEDIATELY responded and said to come down.Long story short, this was our dream apartment. After speaking with Chad, telling him a little about myself, and really connecting, he did everything possible to get me into my new home. Low and behold, not only did he do that, but minor apartment fixes that needed to happen before we moved in, he personally made sure they happened.There were a few minor hiccups along the way timing wise (waiting on numbers to finalize the lease, etc), but nothing that had to do with him or Bohemia. Just technical, political stuff. Still rating 5 stars because thats what HE deserves.If youre looking for an awesome realtor with YOUR best interest at heart, honestly, look no further than Chad at Bohemia.

Comment: First I will like to say I was new to the process and didnt know what to expect. I thought I was going to be viewing apartments with a pushy agent trying to upsale me a 200 sqft. Unit for 3K a month.Instead I was helped by a wonderful person named Nell who was very kind, friendly, and prepared. She had an entire list of apartments that I liked ready to be viewed. This was im the dead if winter after a big snowstorm. She offered to drive me and my girlfriend around to all these places. Even on a 90° day in May, she still walked with us in the heat and show us new units.Overall, Nell made this experience wonderful and helpful and I recommend everyone looking for a place in NYC to stop by and check Bohemia out.

Nell stood out to us as she went above and beyond to find us apartments she knew we would like. Spacious rooms were important to us and she helped us find them.
