Because of my good experience, I opted to work with them again this year in my search for a 1BR with my girlfriend. Again, they found us an amazing unit that we would not have been able to find on our own -- modern appliances, great square footage, and an ideal location.I’ve worked with several other brokers in NYC over the years and had less-than-stellar experiences. What sets Nick and Brendan apart is their friendly demeanor, structured approach for the apartment hunt, and use of technology to streamline the process. You can expect a very easy process, in which you’ll 1) schedule a call with them to discuss your preferences, 2) visit a handful of units with them on a single day and provide your feedback in real-time, and 3) if you find a good unit, send in your application materials digitally. The lease signing is also very easy, as Byson will deliver the lease to your office/home and pick it up for you. What’s also appealing is that Byson takes less than the standard 15% or even 1-month fee.Most importantly, Nick and Brendan are approachable, friendly, and professional. They’re human beings first and foremost, and they speak to their customers with respect. My roommates and I moved to New York without any experience of the real estate landscape in the city, and had a difficult time with flaky brokers, hidden fees, and less than accurate pictures of apartments online. When we fist met Nick to see the place we ended up moving to, he was incredibly kind and helpful, waited on us when we were late, and went out of his way to show us two apartments when we had only set up a meeting for one. Both he and Brendan were well informed about the property, answered our questions honestly and promptly, and communicated outside of regular business hours. They really went above and beyond--Brendan even took time out of his Saturday to visit our apartment and ensure that I could move in when I needed to after we had already signed the lease. What separates them from other brokers out there is their focus on the renter as a client: I really felt like they cared about our interests and made sure we were well represented in negotiations with the leasing office. There were no hidden fees or gotcha moments, only honest and professional communication. Theyve guided us through the entire moving process, and made what was initially a daunting task as painless as possible for first timers. A few things to highlight: Brendan bent over backwards to help us find a place that was within our budget, and one that was leaps and bounds nicer than any other listings we had been considering at that price - their personal connections to landlords is really valuable because you end up finding places that arent yet on the market. Next, he really went out of his way to deal with all of our concerns - were from Canada, so there were a variety of obstacles with payment and viewing, but Brendan was really flexible and video called me to show me the apartment. Finally, he found the place within 20 minutes of us ending our phone call - no other broker I dealt with (and I dealt with too many) was anywhere as efficient. Also, the fact that their fee is below market price in NYC is a significant bonus. When I eventually move to NYC full-time, Brendan will 100% be the first person I call, and I would enthusiastically recommend Bysons services to anyone I know looking for a broker in Manhattan.

Comment: Looking for a new place is never easy. So thankful and appreciative I met Byson! I worked with Brendan Sweeney and from the second I met him he really took the time to listen and understand what I was looking for. Brendan is knowledgable, passionate, and professional at all times and went above and beyond to find many options that satisfied my criteria, which, from a broker perspective, could’ve been a complex and trying request from a client. He found us the perfect apartment unit that met our neighborhood requirement and budget. What’s differentiating him apart from many other brokers is his market skills. He seems to have established very strong network with leasing offices that allowed him to find units on the market before they were listed. With that said, he helped us to get the the maximum amount of space within our budget (not an easy task in NYC). It was an absolutely pleasurable experience working with Brendan. I strongly recommend him and his agency as one of the best in the real estate market!

Comment: I’ll say it over and over again because I can’t stress enough how completely effortless Nick and Brendan have made this entire process for me and roommate. They have made all the difference and rather than haphazardly get you in and out the door, they truly take their time and effort to make sure your best interests are served and then some! Both Nick and Brendan have always made themselves readily available to answer all inquiries with complete transparency and honesty. Rather than feeling like another typical “client/customer” they really took the time to really build a relationship and get to know you. They are super professional however still make sure to build rapport with you. It doesn’t feel like just business or a transaction with them but rather like you’re getting trustworthy and solid advice from a good friend! Again, they have timelessly went above and beyond with their efforts and to go with anyone else in this business would be a huge huge mistake! Don’t do it!
