If youre in the market looking to hire a real estate agency or an agent, search no more. I mean it - stop looking because Orly Chen has got it all, and a fantastic personality to boot. What a wonderful and welcomed surprise! Orly is most definitely NOT your typical real estate agent.We were looking to work with an agent who really knew about Tenafly and the surrounding communities. We were making a major life decision by moving from the Jungle City into the suburbs (new home, new schools, new jobs, the whole thing… ) and so we were depending on great intel and foresight about the Tenafly community.I met Orly through a complete cold call that I made to her. From that very first call I knew she was different. She didn’t ask me a thousand pre-qualifying questions; she just said “come, I’ll show you around.” The only question she asked me when we met was “what exactly are you looking for, so I can help you find it?” On the flip side, Orly must have answered 50 questions that I had, and did so with patience and an amazing sense of humor. After seeing just a few houses together, she caught on to our tastes and needs. Very importantly for us at the time, Orly ALWAYS kept a positive attitude! Like a chameleon, she always had a strategy and a suggestion.When we finally found a house we loved – OMG it turned out to be our dream home- Orly was ABSOLUTELY instrumental during the negotiation process. We were in a particularly tricky situation because we were also in the process of selling our condo back in NY, and there was going to be an overlap between our selling and our buying closing dates that would have threaten our offer on the house. This was because the house seller wanted to close before the end of the current year, and we didn’t know on our end if we would be ready in time (because of OUR condo buyer’s situation). This was where Orly was pure genius and absolutely critical. Through very clever and tenacious negotiations skills with the house-seller’s agent, she in fact saved our deal and made it possible for the negotiations to continue . She totally saved the deal. We needed someone with Orly’s skill and savvy during this period when everything was up in the air. You would want such a person on your side in a situation like we had, I assure you!Once we were under contract, Orly continued to stay on top of the process by guiding us as to what paper work we needed and when. She handled ALL the paperwork and communications with all the different agents and lawyers. She held our hands all the way - and we were very grateful for that. One instance during this “contract period” stands out in particular, when I had a question that I needed an answer to in very short notice. I called Orly and left a message on her cell phone (I was in NY). Less than 3 minutes later she called me back and answered my question. Orly ALWAYS called me back very quickly. Only this time when she called me back she was in Israel.I would also like to mention that Orly’s team is also great, and she has a great back-end support system. We worked with Riki Shulman, who herself was a pleasure to work with. reassuring to say the least .All in all - I could not recommend a better agent. But truthfully, Orly is much more than an agent. She is a great support system. She is extremely competent at her job because she loves what she does. But most importantly, Orly is a good and genuine person – and funny. Indeed we closed on one of the houses from her short list.Being very generous with her time (and effort), she continued advising and helping us also in the stages of finding the right contractors, inspection and renovation: she came over many times, for anything that had to be done at the house before we relocated, and later to advise us on priorities and on what renovations or features may be important to potential future buyers, if we do ever sell.Orly is a great source for referrals for the various professionals one may need for the home: from contractors to home finance brokers, social opportunities, recreation etc.She walked us through each and every step, and we truly felt that she had our best interest in mind. She is also a real person and all her support was beyond the real estate business. She checks in occasionally and responds immediately to any question or need.Orly is an excellent agent in all categories; very dedicated, informed, knowledgeable, fair, hardworking and driven. She sees her job not only in finding the right house for her customers, but also, and not less important - helping them to feel at home!

Comment: Orly Chen was referred to us by my brother in law as we were relocating from Israel to the United States. In less than a week Orly was able to find us a great rental for a great price in Cresskill, NJ. She was available to us regularly throughout our stay and communicated with us seamlessly while we were in Israel She regularly sent us potential listings so when we arrived we were very prepared. Orly is extremely personable and really made the extra effort in assisting us through the relocation process. I would strongly recommend her with no hesitation to anyone whos looking to relocate to Bergen County and for sure will use her services in future real estate needs in the area.
